'Cappuccino Swirl' Brazilian Agate Bracelet

I know, I know - it's almost Christmas time, well at least according to the stores.  And I promise you that next week I'll present you my Christmas collection. But today I'd like to talk a little bit about agate.

Agate is a lovely type of crystal with a smooth sheen. It's a part of the quartz family. Agate is a very old mineral, it was first discovered by Greek philosopher Theophrastus sometime between the 4th and 3rd centuries BC.

Agate is often a bit opaque and can be found in a stunning array of shades - red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, brown, pink, white, grey and more.

Agate is a hard stone - usually within the range of 7-9 on the Mohs scale (the scale ranges from 1 to 10), which makes it good for jewelry.

As with many types of crystals, agate has its own special healing properties to improve the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being of its users. It is often used for relaxation and balance, to ground and provide tranquility to its owner.

What I especially like about this bracelet  - it's the color. I called it Cappuccino Swirl, and it's just it - soft, sweet, warm milky cappuccino - what you need for cold winter morning before Christmas!

Thank you all for looking and I wish you warm and cappuccinny (is it even a word?) day!

The bracelet is 8,5'' long with a beautiful star clasp, and the agate beads are 10mm. It is only $52 + shipping and handling! Enjoy!

Ruby Agate Bracelet, 'Regal Jewel'

Tonight my dog walked me outside at 4 AM. That's very peaceful and quiet at that time. Though, I did see some activity: a car drove to a 24 hrs fitness centre (what an ungodly hour for a workout!) and a morning paper was delivered to my neighbours doors.

My head was clear off of all the thoughts and my spirit was free and high - ready to fly. Was something solemn, majestic and imperial at the moment... In a few moment the spell was broken by my dog, but I remembered it.

And there is quintessence of it: Regal Jewel Bracelet made of graduated  faceted ruby Agate. The beads are 10, 8 and 6 mm. The bracelet itself is 7,5" long and embellished by Swarovski and Chinese crystal and some metal beads. You can have it  for  $62 + shipping if you click the 'Buy Now' PayPal button bellow.

I wish you all have a grand day today! Happy weekend!

Amethist Oval Bracelet

Amethyst IS a royal stone. Even if you did not know that before you would have guessed simply just looking at it. I've never owned amethyst jewelry before I started to create my own a few years back, and now I must confess it is my favourite gemstone and I cannot stop myself from wearing it all the time.

This bracelet is very rare because of it large oval amethyst beads which are not easy to find. The supplier I buy my beads from do not carry it anymore and not sure they will have it again. So this bracelet is one of a kind and even I myself, the creator of it, is not likely to repeat it.

Amethyst is one of the most famous purple gemstones, and has been used to make jewelry since ancient times. England's monarchy possesses some fabulous Cron Jewels which prominently feature royal purple amethyst of astounding size and beauty. Additionally, the Roman Catholic church favours it is a popular choice for clergy; every pope since the 16th century has worn amethyst jewelry of some type.

The bracelet is 8,5'' long. To buy it click the 'Buy Now' button bellow and you will be redirected to secure PayPal web site. The price is only $82.

Caring for Your Agate Jewelry

Good morning ladies and gentlemen! A few days ago I presented to your Agate Bracelet and today I'd like to share with you my little research on how to take care of your agate jewelry. It's easy and not time consuming. All your agate need is a little TLC.

Agate is a member of chalcedony group, same as quartz. It is one of the oldest minerals on earth.

  1. Use soap, warm water and soft brush to clean it.
  2. Do not use abrasive chemicals or bleach.
  3. Agate should not be exposed to extreme heat.
  4. Store agate in fabric-lined box or wrap it in soft cloth.
  5. Keep agate jewelry separately from other jewelry to avoid scratching.
  6. From time to time you can polish your agate with olive oil. Just dip a small amount to a soft cloth and polish agate beads.

Agate is quite porous stone, so if it got very dirty and lost its shine try this:

 - soak agate jewelry piece in warm soapy water for 30 min to 1 hour, then thoroughly rinse it in warm water. Allow your agate to air dry completely. After that use a soft cloth to shine up the beads.

As you can see, it's not a rocket science and very easy indeed. I wish you all the very cozy day and let your agates shine!

Customer Testimonials

I've got a few customers so far but I'm proud to say all of them are happy. There is one review from a lady Oxsana. Look how pretty she is! Oxsana is a nurse. Let's she what she has to say:

"I'm in love with longer earrings, but most of them are not workplace-appropriate because I work at a hospital. Anna's earrings are perfect choice in my situation and I have scrubs of matching color. I get lots of compliments!"

That's the pair she is wearing. Pink Quartz earrings. Although this pair is already sold, you can email me to request a custom order:

Thank you dear! I'm happy you like it.

How to take care of your amber jewelry

Hello there!

Yesterday I showed you my Amber Bracelet and today I'll be talking about taking care of your amber jewelry.

So, you are the lucky owner of a piece of amber jewelry. You hold it on your palm and it reminds you of the sun, honey, summer and hapiness . You want to cherish it, take good care of it and adore it for many-many years.

As you may already know, amber is not a stone -  it is fossilized tree resin which came to us from Neolithic times.  And poetically speaking, it is a bit of the sun on your hand.

Lets talk about does and donts of amber care.

1.  ... be hard on you amber bracelet. Amber is fragile, don't drop it or hit it.

2.  ... keep it in metal or other similar hard boxes.
3. ... keep it together with other pieces of your jewelry
4. ... let it come in contact with powder, cream, perfume and other cosmetics. Especially perfumes!
5. ... use chemicals to clean it. Even soap can cause your amber bracelet or necklace to become dull.
6. ... expose it to direct sunlight, at least not for long
7. ... expose your amber to rapid temperature changes
8. ... cook while wearing amber jewelry  - amber doesn't like high temperature (or too low for that matter)
9. ... do your household chores wearing you amber jewelry

All right, I think that's enough prohibitions for one day, let us focus on does.

1. ... keep it in soft clothe bag separately from other jewelry

2. ... clean it with tepid water and gently dry up with soft flannel tissue
3. ... 'walk' you amber to the sun. Amber loves sunlight if it is not direct. Let it sit outside at sunset or sunrise.
4. ... from time to time you can polish you jewelry with extra virgin olive oil applied on soft cloth. After that dry it up and clean off the olive oil completely with flannel.

And finally I'll give you very interesting and old recipe how to  prevent amber from changing its color.

For brown and dark-honey colored amber:

Brew a cup of strong black tea. Cool it down to +14C (57F). Put your amber jewelry in the cooled tea for 18 hours. Rinse with cold water and dry up with soft cloth.

For lemon-yellow and milk-colored amber:

Make turmeric solution: 50 ml of boiling water + 20 g of finely grinded turmeric and put you amber into that solution for 22 hours.

You can do this procedures for prevention of color change and for giving you amber a color and shine boost.

Hope it helped you. If you know any secrets of amber care or have any questions - comment bellow please.

Thank you for visiting and have a great day!

Amber Bracelet 'Harvest Season'

Good morning sunshine!

It's almost Thanksgiving Day long weekend here in Canada. I know many of you American friends celebrate it much later, so it looks like long Thanksgiving/Christmas Holiday for you. But here in Canada we like to take things slowly :-)

The sun is still shining and its still very warm in Ontario though in the morning or at 3AM (yah, tell it to my dog!) it's a little bit damp and chilly.

I live close to a community garden and guys here are celebrating Harvest Festival this Saturday. They have grown some tomatos, greens, squashes and even pumpkins! Don't you just love pumpkin? It's yellow, it's orange, it's warm and comforting. Every day as I pass my local grocery store I look at their display of pumpkins and flowers. And even if I feel low this sight instantly lifts up my spirits.

So, now you know what inspired my to create this genuine Baltic Amber bracelet with a pumpkin charm.

The three-strand bracelet is 8'' long and costs $38.  Thanks for visiting and have yourself a wonderful day!
